This is your chance to take the wheel of a Lotus Exige for 8km around Hampton Downs Raceway in Auckland. The Exige's light weight & low suspension puts it in a class of its own and you'll be right in on the action.

The sleek style and compact design has all the appeal of the Elise, with a whole new level of power. After you strap in and run through the briefing with our experienced instructor, you'll be off for an unforgettable drive around what drivers consider the greatest track in the Southern Hemisphere.

Take it all in as you drive for 8km around Hamptons Downs Raceway while one of our expert instructors guide you on the finer points of handling this supercar. The noise is unparalleled and the experience will never be forgotten.

Then just when you thought it couldn't get any better, you’ll get the chance to jump into the passenger seat of the awesome Mitsubishi EvoX for a fast lap around the track. A great way to finish off the experience, every seat is as good as the next in this very capable car so whether you’re in the front or the back seat you’ll be smiling when you get out. The ultimate end to a once in a life-time driving experience.
Q. How fast can I drive?
A. Please be aware that this is a ‘Driving Experience’ and not a ‘Race Day’, while you will have the opportunity to experience the performance capabilities of the Supercar, we must maintain a safe environment for you and our instructor. Speeds vary from car to car and on conditions however around 160km/hr is common.

Q. Can friends and family come down and watch the drive?
A. Spectators are more than welcome to come and share in this great experience and take photos.

Q. Can you get DVD’s and/or Photos of the drive?
A. Yes definitely, we offer USB video sticks and framed photos. Check out the additional options to add these!

Q. Are the cars Automatic or Manual?
A. The Transmission is Manual

Q. Do you need a full driver’s licence to participate?
A. Yes you do, if you do not have full drivers licence one of our professional drivers can take you for a hair raising ride experience!

Q. Are there food and drink facilities at Hampton Downs?
A. There are basic snacks & drinks available for purchase, however we recommend bringing something with you if you want something substantial to eat on the day.

Q. What is required from me before I have my Drive?
A. No alcohol is to be consumed within eight hours of participating. Occupants must wear enclosed footwear. Please bring your license and your voucher for the experience

Q. Are there height and weight restrictions?
A. As a general guide there is a comfort height of 6ft 5in or below and a comfort weight of 120kg or below. Call us though as everyone is built differently, we have never had to turn anyone away!

Q. Do you run on weekends?
A. Weekends are typically not available due to race events being held at the track. We run on a Thursday in most cases and periodically on alternate weekdays.

Q. Am I insured when driving the cars?

A. All cars are insured. Each driving package includes the standard insurance which has an excess payable in the case of any damage caused by driver fault of $4,000. We offer an 'Insurance Plus' option for $59 which gives total peace of mind and reduces the excess to $0, this applies to all cars driven on the day. This option can be added when progressing through to the shopping cart, any questions feel free to give us a call on 0800 374 834

Q. How long are vouchers valid for?
A. Vouchers are valid for 12 months

Fantastic experience. I booked it for my partner and he loved it. The staff were really friendly. Good view for supporters and you can take lots of photos and videos. My partner is 6ft3 and he managed to fit in the lotus. I would recommend having 5 laps as it takes a while to build up your confidence. Free hot drinks availble.

I have gone 4 times with these guys over the years and they are superb. Highly passionate, very professional and very nice to deal with. Always has a smile on their face and willing to help. Business setup as this are not easy to run and stay in business due to high risk and cost. I strongly recommend anyone who loves cars to support these guys as well as enjoy the thrill for very little money you pay as owning one of these car will cost you fortune on just basic maintenance itself. For small populated country like nz - this is truly blessing for kiwis. I would definitely go many times more and would love to see them growing.

Had an incredible morning with Drive SuperCars. Smooth registration, everything ran like clockwork! Self driving the Lotus was the absolute highlight, and I took them up on paying for some extra laps on the day (which I would highly recommend). Instructor Dave was a superstar and we had some great laughs on the drive. I only did this yesterday and I already want to do it again. Highly recommended.
